K’NEX K-Force: Buıld and Blast!
Build your own customized toy blaster with unlimited possibilities. K’NEX has come up with a new product line, Build and Blast, combining building blocks with foam dart throwers, simply best of both worlds.
K’NEX has made a bold move this year by venturing a bite from the blaster domain. With their strong suit at hand, that is the building pieces, they are actually one step ahead from the competition since the new line allows children 8 and over to create and customize their own blasters.
Build and Blast products have since proven fun among the users albeit not build for durability; after all the main purpose is to build, blast, take apart, design, rebuild, reblast. In that the company seems to have caught a nice spot, since more pieces means more complex blasters. Most of the models pieces are compatible with the standard K’NEX ones so (if you already own other K’NEX toys) you’ll have a little more than what you paid for.
The line consists of 10 new products, ranging from 10-30 dart packs to double-draw building set.
The dart packs have now a number of darts and some K’NEX pieces&connectors to build a target to blast. As for the blaster kits, they are pre-assembled and priced according to complexity of the blaster and/or the number of pieces packed. For example the 10-dollar K-5 Phantom has one blaster chamber, 1 quick-fit grip, a preload ring and a couple of darts whereas the $50 Dual Cross lets you construct 6 different blaster and target designs, including a double-chamber dual cross blaster which can fire up to 75 ft. The set has many connectors and extra special parts (blaster chambers, grips, dart holders, preload grips, etc.) to create customized blasters. Additionally you can download instructions to build 5 alternative blasters and targets. Equally strong, the Mega Boom has a double chamber for double shot.
The entire Build and Blast product line is compatible and the parts are interchangeable. Most models can be built one at a time, but if you can spare some connectors you can also have a side arm. When you buy 2 sets, you’ll probably be able to build up to 3 blasters in many different combinations.
