Madzzle: Lots of fun, all in one tube
MadRat Games has launched a many-in-one play set in which a jigsaw puzzle and a deck of cards can keep children busy for hours.
Maddzle sets as of yet come in various difficulty levels: Bermuda Triangle (54 pieces), Mega Structures (120 pieces), Animal Kingdom (120 pieces), Amazon (120 pieces), and Worldopedia (180 pieces). The smallest pack, The Bermuda Triangle is designed especially for kids between 7 and 11 years of age.
Each pack contains a magnetic puzzle mat which you can lay your jigsaw pieces on any soft surface such as your bed, a card deck which you will need once the puzzle has been completed, a pair of magnifying lenses or decoder lenses for tiny or hidden objects, and a rule book.
The initial step is to make the puzzle. This takes long enough for fun and short enough not to lose your interest. The puzzle is designed with a technology which the company calls “ZeroGap” and this prevents large gaps between puzzle pieces for a more clear picture (since there are tiny details to be caught). Now pick a card and find the object among many others in the big picture. For this object hunt you will be needing those lenses as there are very tiny things you have to search for, or hidden objects in the cards. Each card also contains some facts about that particular item and has a score point. The third game is the data duel. Picking a game from the rulebook and comparing the properties on your cards will get you triumphant over all your opponents. Each edition of the game has its own special additions, such as counters or marigold seeds. And there is one last surprise; they glow in the dark!
